A Huge Thank You to The Oregon Community Foundation!

The Friends of The Historic Union Community Hall operating the Catherine Creek Community Center in Union Oregon invites you to visit our Computer Resource Center funded by the Oregon Community Foundation.  

The Computer Resource Center is open Tuesdays from 2:00-5:00 PM and Fridays from 10:00-2:00 PM and includes staff to assist new users, three computers, and resource literature for public use.

Natasha Doyon, Community Resource Specialist writes, “I am very excited to be able to extend the hours available to our wonderful community through the Catherine Creek Community Center. We would like to thank The Oregon Community Foundation as the Grant Funding was a huge support to be able to extend more services to the community.”

The funds that supported the Oregon Community Foundation Grant are: the Glen and Jean McKenzie Fund of Oregon Community Foundation, Robert W. Chandler Fund of Oregon Community Foundation and the Northeast Oregon Heritage Fund of Oregon Community Foundation.  

The Catherine Creek Community Center is now open for booking.  The historic Union Main Street location hosts an impressive Chapel with grand stained glass windows for weddings and family events. In addition, the building offers a meeting hall, office desk space  is available for rent as well as an approved commercial kitchen facility.  For rental and contact information see our website at www.CatherineCreekCommunityCenter.com.

The Community Resource Center at the Catherine Creek Community Center, funded by Oregon Community Foundation dollars, is one of several programs that the Board has been developing. Other programs include: a Food Pantry the 3rd Friday of the month from 10:00-11:00, a monthly community meal the 4th Friday of the month at noon, the Memorial Wall, music lessons and youth programs. The current youth programs include: Epic Pre-Teen Night, “Health Adventures”  by the South Country Health District and “Kids in the Kitchen” by Oregon State University.  As the volunteer program develops, Community input in program development is encouraged.

The Friends of The Historic Union Community Hall have worked to provide access to all.  The Community Resource Center includes a desk designed to compliment wheelchairs, access to our newly enlarged ADA Bathroom and existing wheelchair ramps.
